GIVE the opportunity to pedal for children’s welfare, and they will go all in. Over a hundred bikers in Cagayan de Oro City heeded the call to lend their time and effort to help bring awareness to a worthy cause in the early morning on June 17.
The Regional Alternative Child Care Office 10 (Racco-10) conducted the ‘BISIG-KLETA Bike Ride’ to cap off a week-long set of activities for the 2023 Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week celebration.
This bike activity was conducted to raise public awareness and information on the different alternative childcare programs such as legal adoption, foster care, and rectification of simulated birth records.
The bikers started from the DSWD office grounds, then down to Rodelsa Circle, through JR Borja Street to Galaxy, crossed over to the Coastal Road to Licoan, and finished at the Provincial Capitol grounds. This activity was also conducted by other regions nationwide but was held on different dates.
“Kami na mga bikers sa DSWD ga support or advocate mi sa mga ingani nga activities,” Kristofferson D. Lumbre, a member of DSWD-10 Bikers.
“With the guidance and support of RD Ramel F. Jamen, a biker himself, mo participate gyud mi sa in-aning mga events. Dili necessarily sa DSWD lang nga events, maningkamot gyud mi mo attend,” he added.
“Pasalamat in behalf of Racco-10 sa mga bike groups in Cagayan de Oro, ug sa Provincial Government Office sa venue and logistics, sa city government of Cagayan de Oro for the marshals and Oro Rescue presence," said Yeddah Amigo, social welfare officer, Racco-10.
“Collective nga effort ni sa tanan para ma successful ang event. At the same time, nag raise mi public awareness and information for legal adoption and other alternative child care services, and promoting a healthy lifestyle ug environmental-friendly celebration,” she added.
