THE City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) briefed more than 160 barangay treasurers and committee members from 80 barangays July 1 on a standardized fund investment plan and utilization report system.

The orientation, held at the Tourism Hall in City Hall, aimed to ensure barangays align their plans and reports with approved community-based disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) strategies, enhancing transparency and accountability.

This initiative follows the recent approval by the CDRRMC of standardized formats for the Barangay DRRM Fund Investment Plan and utilization reports, as per a resolution passed during the second-quarter full council meeting.

CDRRMD Department Manager Nick Jabagat led the orientation, which was supported by the Department of the Interior and Local Government-CDO, the City Budget Office and the City Accounting Department.

The activity is part of the city’s efforts for National Disaster Resilience Month in July and seeks to strengthen disaster preparedness and fund management at the barangay level.
