LANAO del Sur Gov. Mamintal ‘Bombit’ Adiong Jr. says the province is fully prepared for the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections on October 13.
In a phone interview, Adiong urged residents to vote in what he called “a defining moment for the region’s democratic journey.”
He said preparations, including ballot printing and testing of Automated Counting Machines, are underway.
The Commission on Elections has assured that there will be no delays, he added.
Adiong credited Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo with strengthening the partnership between the national government and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“The guidance and assistance of SAP Lagdameo have been instrumental. Through his efforts, our voices are heard in Malacañang, and our local governments feel the genuine support of the national leadership,” Adiong said.
He noted Lagdameo’s role in relaying the concerns and aspirations of the Bangsamoro people to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The governor also called on candidates and their supporters to prioritize peace and unity during the campaign.
“This election is not only about politics but about safeguarding the future of Bangsamoro,” Adiong said.
He added: “Thanks to the support of the national government and the people’s active participation, we can ensure a peaceful, credible, and historic first parliamentary election.”
