SEVENTY-eight representatives from private schools with Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) programs attended an orientation at Cronin Hall, Cathedral Compound, on June 24.
The event was organized by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Department, specifically its ECCD Division.
The session aimed to guide private schools through the process of registering their ECCD programs and obtaining the necessary operating permits.
ECCD programs target children aged three to four years and emphasize child-centered, play-based learning in Child Development Centers. These programs focus on providing early stimulation during formative years.
The orientation also served as an official recognition platform for private schools implementing ECCD programs locally.
According to the CSWD, its ECCD division is responsible for executing national ECCD initiatives at the city level. The city government continues to collaborate with private education providers to ensure compliance with ECCD standards and to support early childhood development.
