CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando Klarex Uy is gearing up to invigorate the public with an array of exciting activities for the upcoming Higalaay Festival 2023. 

Chief of Staff at the City Mayor's Office, Sheila Lumbatan, unveiled this thrilling news, which promises a series of festive fun starting today, August 1, for all.

To kick off the festivities, Lumbatan said a grand launching event is scheduled today, August 1, 2023, at Rio de Oro Boulevard. 

Starting at 5:30 PM, the public will have the chance to witness the magnificence of the meticulously prepared Higalaay Events for August.

"The Mayor (Klarex) is determined to provide entertainment for everyone, featuring live performances by local bands and even a rave party to follow the program," said Lumbatan.

In preparation for the festival, a Festival Media Briefing also took place earlier today, at the City Tourism Hall. 

The event provided an opportunity for the panel, including City Tourism Officer Rico Libre, Councilor and Tourism Committee Chairman Jay Roa Pascual, and the Mayor's Office, to share information and extend invitations to the public through local media outlets. 

Lumbatan said representatives and organizers of the Higalaay Festival's core and parallel events utilized this occasion to showcase their programs and encourage community participation.

"The Higalaay Festival aims to be a spectacular celebration honoring Sr. San Agustin," said Lumbatan.

She said that with Mayor Uy's proactive approach and the dedication of the festival's organizers, this year's event promises to bring immense joy and excitement to the community. 

"So mark your calendars and get ready to be captivated by the vibrant and diverse events lined up for the Higalaay Festival! Wishing everyone a Happy Higalaay Festival!," she said.
