MAYOR Rolando 'Klarex" Uy of Cagayan de Oro City has a heartfelt message for the members of the Fraternal Order of Philippine Eagles who are gathering for their first-ever convention in Mindanao.
He expresses his immense joy and gratitude for having the opportunity to host this significant event in his city, which is lovingly referred to as the "City of Golden Friendship."
"Hinaot sa atong convention naa ang usa ka tinuoray nga manag-suon na ipatigbabaw ang pagsinabtanay ug pagtinabangay aron daghan pa nga atong mahimong igsuon sa eagles," said Mayor Uy.
The mayor's message to his fellow Eagles emphasizes brotherhood, cooperation, and sincere dedication to serving the community.
He hopes that this convention will be a time when all members truly feel like brothers, understanding and helping each other so that their community can grow even larger.
He wishes for the spirit of unity and mutual support to continue long after the convention ends.
Mayor Uy ends his message with a cheer for the Eagles, celebrating their gathering and the values they stand for.
Eric Daabay, the governor of the region, announced that this is the first big meeting of the Eagles in Mindanao, with more than a thousand members expected.
The event will take place in Cagayan de Oro City, which is special because it is the first time for the group like this in Mindanao.
"The meeting is about working together and helping others," said Daabay.
He said, Eagle Soliven Teo, the Vice President for Mindanao, came up with the idea for the convention, and Eagle Ronald Delos Santos, the national President, supports it.
Eagle Jowell P. Dagang, who is in charge of leadership training, is also helping a lot with the event.
The big meeting will be on February 17, 2024, at Dynasty Court Hotel. There will be talks from 1 pm to 5 pm and then a fun gathering from 6 pm to 11 pm.
On February 18, there will be a special event for the female Eagles: the inaugural Lady Eagles Forum, scheduled to take place at Grand Caprice from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Eagles member who want to join can sign up online and find how to pay there. If you register early, from January 18 to February 10, it costs P1,500.00, and you get a shirt, mug, snack, and dinner. Late registration, from February 11 to February 17, costs P2,000.00 but you still get the same free things.
If someone only wants to come to the evening fun, they can pay less. If they register early, it costs P800.00 and includes a mug and dinner. If they register late, it costs P1,000.00 and includes just a mug.
