IN AN exhilarating display of talent and vibrant culture, the Oro Higalaay Street Dance Competition took place at the Pelaez Sports Center.
The event, organized by the city government showcased the extraordinary creativity and skill of participating barangays in Cagayan de Oro City.
Sheila Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff of the mayor's office, proudly disclosed the winners of the competition.
Lumbatan said claiming the coveted championship title and a grand prize of ₱300,000.00 was Barangay Gusa, whose performers delivered a captivating performance that left the audience in awe.
"Their synchronized moves and energetic routines showcased the essence of their community's spirit," Lumbatan said.
Securing an impressive second place, Barangay Carmen received ₱200,000.00 as their reward.
The dancers from Barangay Carmen wowed the judges and spectators with their dazzling costumes, which perfectly complemented their graceful movements.
Barangay Puerto, with their exceptional performance, emerged as the second runner-up and was awarded ₱100,000.00.
Their dedication and hard work were evident as they flawlessly executed their choreography, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and expressed his admiration for the participating barangays.
He emphasized the importance of such cultural events in promoting unity and preserving the city's rich heritage.
Lumbatan added that the Oro Higalaay Street Dance Competition not only showcased the artistic prowess of the participants but also served as a platform for fostering camaraderie and community spirit among the residents of Cagayan de Oro City.
