CIVIL Service Commission-10 (CSC) has reintroduced its Computerized Examination (ComEx) in a move to make the exam process more efficient and available to a wider number of candidates.

This announcement was made by CSC Chairperson Karlo Alexei Nograles on September 5.

During his visit to the regional office, Nograles shared, "We have now equipped Region 10 with a new computer server to guarantee regular ComEx operations, at least twice a week."

To make sure technology doesn't become a barrier in the exam process, 25 computers have been set aside for the applicants in the region.

This comes as a solution to the challenges faced earlier due to server issues that had paused ComEx operations since February 2020.

Going forward, the registration for ComEx will be carried out online on a first-come, first-served basis through the CSC ComEx website.

This digitized and streamlined process is expected to increase the number of ComEx users, test-takers, and successful candidates.

The CSC aims to have ComEx fully operational by 2024, offering a more efficient and easier way for candidates to take civil service examinations.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-10 has been instrumental in supporting this relaunch.

They have committed to providing technical support in setting up and running the ComEx system.

Chairperson Nograles also noted the increasing pass rate in CSC exams, which has risen to 16% under his leadership.

He stressed on keeping the exam standards to ensure fairness to all applicants.

ComEx is mainly for those who couldn't clear the usual pen-and-paper test or had difficulty scheduling for the conventional exam, which takes place only twice a year.

CSC-10 plans to increase the frequency of ComEx from twice a week to daily.

To make this possible, they are teaming up with internet service providers to ensure steady internet connectivity across the region.

This relaunch of computerized examinations aligns with the region's 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary theme, which is about transforming public service to create future-ready public servants.
