CONSTRUCTION has begun on the new 5-storey CDRRMD (City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department) Building Disaster Coordination Center in Barangay Carmen, as announced by Shiela Lumbatan, the Chief of Staff at the City Mayor's Office.
This building will serve as a crucial facility in ensuring the safety and security of the people during any calamity and will enhance the city's emergency response capabilities, said Lumbatan.
Lumbatan emphasized that this project aligns with the city's RISE agenda, which stands for Regional Leadership, Institutional Development, Safety and Security, and Economic Recovery.
It is an integral part of Mayor Klarex's vision for the city's progress and development, focusing on holistic growth and resilience, according to Lumbatan.
"The new CDRRMD Building will play a vital role in disaster management and response efforts," she said, adding it will serve as a central coordination center where various agencies and stakeholders can come together to plan and execute strategies during emergencies.

The construction of the CDRRMD Building Lumbatan stressed is a testament to the city's commitment to the 'Seal of Good Local Governance' program.
