TODAY police said they arrested a suspect behind the killing of a female broadcast journalist in Zamboanga City on Tuesday.
Zamboanga City Police Director Colonel Kimberly Molitas withheld the identity of the suspect pending an ongoing investigation.
“At 1:15 am Wednesday, we arrested the suspect related to the shooting of Ms. Rodriguez,”Molitas said in a text message to reporters.

Maria Vilma Rodriguez, 56, of Emedia Productions Network., was shot thrice in front of her family while tending to her store in Comet Street, Barangay Tumaga, Zamboanga City.
Rodriguez is the fifth journalist killed under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,
The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines said 140 journalists have been killed in the Philippines from 2000 to 2020.
