THE ageless Xavier United Templars will have one more chance to snare the elusive St. Francis Xavier Cup title in the deciding Game 3 of the XUHS- Alumni Basketball League Season 12 versus the XUHS- 1995 Sprockets tonight, November 19 at Xavier University’s uptown gym in Cagayan de Oro.

Fronted by the skilled tandem of Erwin Raagas and Charome Marte, the XU United prevailed in the opener of the best-of-3 series with a score of 74-70 and is determined to collar the crown that eluded them for so many years.

But a spate of near-flawless jumpers by Paul ‘Shantao’ Moreno sparked the five-time champion Sprockets’ Game 2 win, 69-62 to even the series.

“Our defense is good locking their key player's pero si Shantao (Moreno) naka eskapo gyod we need some adjustment if we want to end our title-drought in the deciding Game 3,” the XU United point guard Reynand Fuentes told Gold Star Daily.
