WHERE do broken hearts go? That depends on how you look at it.
We have different ways of coping when we lose someone but one thing is for certain: no matter how many wise words you get from your friends and family, in the end, it doesn’t make any difference. You still feel the pain of loss, and you continue to grieve on your own. Call me bitter, I don’t care. I am just stating the reality of it.
Sometimes, people are just good at giving out advice compared to receiving them because they are not the ones whose hearts were broken, and when the time comes they are on the same spot as you are now (broken and alone), they will tell you the same thing: “You wouldn’t understand.”
No matter what anyone says to someone whose heart was broken, the victims will only say that they understand how you feel. But every person is different. We are unique in a way, and we cope on our own, either positively or negatively.
The truth about Valentine’s Day is far from what others tell themselves. This day is not about couples--it’s deeper than that.
Some people think that Valentine’s Day is about celebrating it with people who have couples to share their special day with. Reality is that the concept of the “Heart’s Day” is much broader compared to some who believe that it must be celebrated by your special someone, to think that it’s simply about that is wrong, remove that mainstream idea and focus on what it really is. It is a day of celebrating love.
It is a day to celebrate love for your friends, family, special someone and someone you have lost.
Even people who had their hearts broken have the right to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Although not as joyous, it is worth celebrating. This day never revolves around one person. You have to understand that it is for those who feel and experience love.
I for one celebrated my Valentine’s Day with a broken heart. I spent that day with friends instead, not to mourn and grieve about the loss but to celebrate what we had.
“Heart’s day” is spent with loved ones in general and not only exclusive for your boyfriend or girlfriend. The best part of this day is to show the people you love most how you appreciate their presence in your lives.
What is love, really? People who understand the meaning of love are the people who do not understand it simply because love cannot be explained with mere words, and it could not be expressed easily. It shows in your sincere actions as an individual. Newbies in this field would simply say they were hurt. In pain, one’s love is gone when the heart is broken and shattered. But you become stronger the next time your heart opens up.
“Action speaks louder than words” is what I always tell myself. There is no use shielding your heart from loving someone fully. Go all out and never regret that you loved them unconditionally and with all your heart. That’s the point of loving someone.
To those who loved and lost, never regret that you gave it your all. As you move on from a break-up, you become stronger the next time. All you have to do now is to go through hell, and try your best to get out of it, but never hate. Just be happy that he or she once loved you. If your heart was broken by someone, all you can do is to be better, and improve.
Be the better man.
