SEVERAL municipalities in Misamis Oriental suspended classes early today, Nov. 24, due to continuous rain since last night brought by Tropical Depression Verbena.

The municipalities that suspended classes are Gingoog, Binuangan, Lagonglong, Sugbongcogon, El Salvador City, Magsaysay, Opol, Tagoloan, and Manticao.

According to a Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-Pagasa) advisory issued at 3 am, early today, TD Verbena is estimated at 345 kilometers east of Surigao City and Surigao del Norte, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph.

The weather disturbance will bring light to occasionally moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, here in Cagayan de Oro, Barangay Bugo officials declared a suspension of classes at all levels for both public and private schools.
