The City Health Office (CHO) confirmed that the majority of recent water samples collected in the city tested positive for bacterial contamination, raising concerns over a spike in gastrointestinal illnesses.
Out of 19 water samples analyzed, 16 were found to contain coliform and fecal coliform bacteria, officials said. The contamination is linked to reported cases of diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps and fever among residents in recent weeks.

Health authorities urged the public to boil water before drinking and to practice strict hygiene as they continue to investigate the source of contamination.
