By EDWIN IYO, Correspondent The Rotarians from California, USA visited the eastern part of Misamis Oriental and distributed a total of 260 wheelchairs directly to persons with special needs. A grateful Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano welcomed the 31-member Rotarian delegates headed by District Governor Ellen Hancock of District 5220. Most of them are doctors and nurses who came from three Rotary Clubs in California. The visiting Rotarians gave a total of P5,382,074 worth of brand new wheelchairs. Emano said, in a text message, he is very optimistic that more help would be given by the same group soon which would benefit more than 6 thousand individuals with disability in the province. For his part, Emano gave P120 thousand cash to the local rotarians in Gingoog City for the release of the wheelchairs holed up in the Bureau of Customs in Tagoloan town. He also thanked Rotarian Gopaldas ‘Boy Pinting’  Motoomull of Rotary Club of Gingoog and Past President Maggie Tse of Rotary Club of Gingoog Bay and the rest of the local Rotarians who initiated the distribution of wheelchairs. The towns of Magsaysay and Talisayan received 15 and 69, respectively, wheelchairs over the weekend. While, Medina town received 52 wheelchairs also over the weekend. The distribution of wheelchairs intended for Balingasag was supppsedly done in Capitol Ground on Monday but moved on Wedenesday March 15 in Initao town with the presence of Emano and the US-based Rotarians.
