SHOWING why they called the reigning champion, the stacked Cluster 3 Black Panthers easily dismantled the Cluster 5 Red Cardinals to face the Blue Eagles in the Civil Service Anniversary Basketball championship game, still going on, as of this writing at the Capitol ground, Cagayan de Oro City.
With the powerhouse Black dribblers, bannered by the likes of Jade Abacahin Maher Eduave, Franz Tumanda, EJ Aligsao, Bryan Edulan, and Jupiter Candano, showcasing great teamwork play, the last semifinal match of the day was virtually over with still six minutes remaining and the score read at 54-36.
“Grabe ka kusog ilang linya, mora’g selection sa mga batan-on naa silay veterans makamao man sab,” the Red Cardinals’ 46-year-old center Jerome Acebron told Gold Star Daily.

“Ila pa karon, pero moabot ug mabati ra gihapon nila kon moabot sila sa among pangedaron," added Acebron in jest, whose teammates include the 60-year-old pair of Rosalino Galindo and Allan Lacuna.
The Cardinals gave a good fight entering the fourth and final quarter when the streak-shooting Hipolito Borbon Jr made consecutive baskets. But the no-mercy Black Panthers also rained out three points, courtesy of Aligsao and Edulan, to further stretch the commanding lead.
