SEA voyages between Camiguin and Balingoan, Misamis Oriental, have been temporarily suspended today, Nov. 3, due to Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi).
The announcement was made by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) through the Coast Guard Camiguin Station.
Camiguin Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo shared the suspension notice on his Facebook page, noting that the province is currently under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
The suspension applies to all ship and vehicle operations and remains in effect until the weather and sea conditions improve.
According to the PCG, vessels seeking shelter will be allowed entry only with a written request and are not permitted to have any passengers or cargo on board.
P/Sr. Master Sgt. Jefferson Consiso, Assistant Team Leader of the Balingoan Maritime Police, confirmed that no ships are currently sailing.
Consiso also noted that despite the sudden suspension, there are currently no stranded passengers at the Balingoan port.
