Butuan City — The 402nd Infantry Brigade renewed its oath to respect human rights as it celebrated the Human Rights Consciousness Week during the Flag Raising Ceremony earlier this week at its headquarters in Barangay Bancasi, this city.
In line with Republic Act 9201, the 402nd Brigade joined the nation in commemorating the Human Rights Consciousness Week that runs from Dec. 04 to 10 with a theme “Youth Standing Up for Human Rights” in commemoration of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on Dec. 10, 1948.
Col. Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, 402nd Deputy Brigade Commander led the reading of the message of the Commanding General, Philippine Army which stated: “The growing professionalism of our organization and our excellent human rights record are just some of the factors that strengthened our claims as advocates and defenders of human rights. These factors play a significant role in the achievement of our current trust and satisfaction ratings of +79 and +75 respectively, in repudiating the allegations of human rights violations as claimed by our enemies, and in establishing our sincerity especially in our engagements with stakeholders.” (pr)
