By BEN SERRANO Correspondent BUTUAN City-- Still unidentified burglars entered forcibly theMunicipal Treasurer’s office of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur bydestroying lock of the entrance door of the office  then destroyedlocks of the vaults paving the way to rob all valuable items insideincluding cash money amounting to nearly one million pesos. Talacogon town is about 100 kilometers away from here Butuan City, Caraga Region’s capital. Report from Talacogon, Agusan del Sur Municipal Police toPolice Regional Office-13  saidthat initial investigation showedMerlieGoloranMondejar, 50, Municipal Treasurer’sOffice employee of the local government unit of Talacogon was about toopen the treasurer’s office Monday morning (June 1) when she noticedthat the lock of the office was already destroyed.Mondejar then look inside and found that the four vaults of the office were already opened. Police said the suspect carted away cash money amounting to P609,853.78 LGU cash fund;personal cash money of P189,000.00 owned byTeresita E. Sarande, casher of LGU Talacogon) and her jewelries worth more or less P80, 000.00, one unit laptop Windows 8 Icore 5 worthP 32,145.00, passbook and voluminous cellophane and records. Further investigation revealed that incident allegedly occurred on theearly dawn of June 1 while the watchman identified as Pedro Belgira, Jr. was on sleep at his post adjacent to the building. Police said they are still investigating the incident.
