IN a spectacle that would warm the country’s health professionals’ hearts, throngs of local residents massed outside vaccination sites, determined to finally get jabbed and fight off the Covid-19 pandemic that has gripped the country for 20 months now.
Cagayan De Oro City residents are availing of the roll-out of the National Vaccination Days declared by President Rodrigo Duterte which started on November 29 and will end on December 1.
As early as six in the morning, long lines were found outside the city’s public schools designated vaccination sites, with nearby residents taking advantage of their residences being in close proximity.
“Magpabakuna na gyud mi, kay nia ra duol sa balay namo ang mag bakuna,” Norma, a resident of Gusa, said. “Kato man gud sa mga mall ma ulaw sab mi mo sulod kay wa mi kwarta,” she laughingly added.
MacDonald’s Gusa branch, in front of Villa Ernesto Subdivision, also offered their premises to both adult and children vaccinees. The store’s entire second floor has been utilized as the vaccination site.
Personnel of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office have been deployed to ensure crowd control and security to the inoculation sites.
