A robbery at a gasoline station in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, on Saturday morning led to an armed encounter, resulting in the death of one suspect while two others remain at large, police said.

The incident occurred around 9 am when the owner of GT Fuel Station reported a robbery involving three suspects in a Toyota Fortuner.

Authorities intercepted the vehicle at a checkpoint in Sitio Bong Bong, Adtuyon, but the suspects sped past, triggering a police chase.

Upon reaching Barangay Road in Sitio Bugwak, Bacusanon, the suspects opened fire, prompting officers to return fire.

Their vehicle later veered into a canal, but as the suspects attempted to flee, the shootout continued.

One suspect was fatally shot, while the two others escaped into a grassy area. Police said a manhunt operation is ongoing.
