By Dave Achondo The Miss Cagayan de Oro 2018 has finally come to an end, as this year's queen hails from Barangay Macasandig. It was an unforgetablle evening for all candidates of this year's Miss CDO, Miss Mary Chris Suico (crowned winner) was not the only one basking in joy, as 4 others join her on stage anxiously waiting for the final result. Ultimately, Suico won this city's most coveted crown, and will forever be recalled in the history of CDO as one of its precious gems in a long line of beauties that came before her. Although she may not had attained any special awards during the entire night, she still won the hearts of the judges and crowd itself. As the top 5 waited idly for the result, one by one they were called to come to receive their titles. Fourth runner up was Lovely Jacalan of Brgy. Baikingon, coming in third was Claudette Elaco of Brgy. Bugo, following her was Nina Angeli Bernedo of Brgy. Iponan, and finally after an emotional face to face the final result was in. Two ladies holding each other's hands waited for the announcement. It was down to two -- Anna Grace Alturas of Brgy. Lapasan and Mary Chris Suico of Brgy. Macasandig. Both candidates held each others hands tightly, wondering which of them was to be crowned. The crowed was in silenced as everyone waited for the final result. Finally, the emcees broked the silenced and announced this year's Miss CDO 2018. The crowed roared when Alturas' name was called as the first runner up, as supporters with deafening chants celebrated the crowning of their bet, and this year's Miss Cagayan de Oro, Ms. Mary Chris Suico (Candidate # 5) of barangay Macasandig. Special and Major award were also given to the following candidates.
