ONE of the biggest and most prestigious insurance companies in Cagayan de Oro holds its first-ever golf event this morning.
Dubbed “Stronghold Insurance Company Inc., 1st Invitational Stronghold Friendship Golf Tournament,” it tees off at 7 am at uptown’s Pueblo de Oro Golf Course.
According to Cris Dizon, marketing supervisor of Stronghold Insurance, the invitational tourney is in line with the company’s 63rd Anniversary celebration beginning on Tuesday.
Stronghold Insurance used to sponsor numerous basketball teams in the past under the lookout of the late Leandro ‘ReyAs’ Asuncion.
But in the post-pandemic period, Dizon said it’s but fit to cap the celebration by staging a friendship golf competition at the Pueblo de Oro Golf & Country Club, an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course, heralded as among the top five golf courses in the country.
“We look forward to seeing golf enthusiasts up there on Friday morning,” Dizon told Gold Star Daily.
The awarding ceremony will follow shortly later at 12 noon onwards at the Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf club.
