ALL is prepared for the 4,000 registered voters expected to cast their votes in Sta. Ana, Tagoloan town in Misamis Oriental on Monday.

Today, Commission on Elections officers, teachers, police, and volunteers of each political candidate witnessed the final testing and sealing of nine Vote Counting Machines in the nine voting precincts in Barangay Sta. Ana.

Alma Resuma, the overall in-charge, and supervisor of the May 9 polls in Sta. Ana Elementary School said that they are ready, and prepared and that there’s nothing to worry about on Monday. Resuma is the assistant principal of Mohon, Tagoloan Elementary School, and has been assigned to supervise Sta. Ana’s election process.

Resuma said they did not encounter any glitches during the final testing and sealing of VCMs today.

If during the election, a sudden power outage would occur, Resuma said that the Comelec assured them the counting machines have their own backup batteries. These would automatically switch on to ensure that the feeding of ballots would continue.

“Mao na ilang gi-ready karon during the final testing and sealing,” said Resuma.

The ones who are responsible for technical support are technicians from the Department of Education Supervisor’s Office (Deso). They would be on standby in each of the nine polling precincts here on Monday.

“Kung naay mga VCM nga naay diperensya, gi-train na sila para sila didto mo response kung naay problema sa mga machine,” Resuma said.

She added that Comelec has designated areas for the transmittal of election returns for polling areas with low signals. However, in Sta. Ana, Resuma said the cellular signal is stable.

In each precinct, there will be a chairman, poll clerk, poll member, and a Deso technician. All of whom, she said would help to ensure basic health protocols are followed.

“Naa nay naka assign magkuha sa thermal temperature sa gate, if ever muabot syag 37.5 ipa-rest sa sya. If ever dili gyud muubos iyang (temperature) naa mi designated room kung aha sya pwede mobotar,” Resuma said.

Meanwhile, the Tagoloan Police are already visible this early as they were present during today’s final testing and sealing of VCMs.

PSSG Jessa Espinosa of Tagoloan MPS said they will abide by their mandate to ensure the safety of the ballots, as well as, the voters this Monday.

Espinosa added that they will be vigilant to respond to small and big glitches if ever there is starting today up to the end of the May 9 elections.
