ILIGAN City — Senior citizens in Iligan City who have reached the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 will receive their financial benefits this week.

Edgar Navales, head of the Association of Senior Citizens in Iligan, announced that 255 eligible senior citizens will each receive P10,000 on Friday, July 25.

City employees have already contacted and advised each recipient personally, he said.

This batch includes those who reached the specified ages between January 1 and June 30 of this year and who have completed the necessary forms.

The distribution will take place from 8 am to 1 pm on Friday, with the venue to be provided by the contacting personnel.

Navales added that a second batch, comprising those who reach the aforementioned ages between July 1 and December 31 of this year, will receive their benefits later.

The distribution is in accordance with the Expanded Senior Citizens Act, which grants financial assistance to qualified senior citizens.

Recipients for this batch come from the city’s 44 barangays, Navales said.
