CONSIDERED as the underdogs, the Green CdeO Eagles teams that barely made it to the playoff round will surprisingly dispute tonight, September 7, the basketball crown of the Kuya Romuls Cup Season 2 at Barangay 24 covered courts in Cagayan de Oro City.

“Mora’g hinay hapit pa nanga-eliminate pero nikalit lang kusog sa ilang mga crucial games,” said GCEC president Jaime Joshua Frias II of the never-say-die RS Team 2 and Baba Team 5.

Team Baba’s great teamwork play anchored by veteran guard Totsie Daitol and the backcourt scoring dynamo of Rich del Castillo Jr and Marvin Cabatuan will try to offset the height advantage of RS Team 2 in the championship game after the 7 pm battle for third place between Team 1 and Team 7.

The RS Team 2, which stunned the Boning Biongcog and Shian Galanida-led Team 1 in the semifinals, will rely on the rebounding duo of Waway Arocha and King Bendisula and the offensive troika of Mamark Capul, Thirdie dela Cruz and Primum Deus Tagud in their own championship bid.
