CAGAYAN de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez met last Wednesday, July 9, with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cagayan de Oro Chief Maj. Jason Ray Gomera to discuss ongoing anti-crime efforts in the city.
During the meeting, Gomera presented a report on CIDG Cagayan de Oro’s operations from April to June 2025.
The report detailed five major campaigns: Oplan Salikop, targeting and neutralizing criminal groups; Oplan Pagtugis, tracking and arresting wanted persons; Oplan Paglalansag Omega, focusing on loose firearms; Oplan Bolilyo, combating illegal gambling; and Oplan Megashopper, addressing counterfeit and smuggled goods.
The city’s CIDG also expressed gratitude for Rodriguez’s support, as he funded P42,500 in repairs for one of its vehicles. The repaired vehicle was formally turned over to the congressman during the meeting.
Rodriguez praised the CIDG team’s efforts and leadership under Gomera. He reaffirmed his commitment to support law enforcement initiatives, including assistance with budget allocations and legislative measures to enhance the unit’s operational capacity.
The meeting underscored the strong partnership between local government officials and law enforcement agencies in tackling crime in Cagayan de Oro.
Rodriguez emphasized the importance of sustained collaborative efforts to ensure public safety and protect residents.
CIDG Cagayan de Oro’s anti-crime operations are set to continue throughout the year, with ongoing coordination with city officials and community groups.
