By GENEVIEVE CANTOR Correspondent A GROUP of about 14 men, believed by the military to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA), burned heavy equipment at Sitio Tanlad, Barangay San Juan, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, on Tuesday afternoon. Capt. Lorenzo Siobal, spokesperson of the army’s 403rd Brigade, said the the armed group set afire two heavy equipment owned by Big Ben Trucking Services based in Libona, Bukidnon. Siobal said the heavy equipment were being used in opening a road to Sitio Tanlad for Del Monte Philippines Inc.. He said rebels burned the heavy equipment in order to collect “revolutionary tax” that remained unpaid for months.
