GINGOOG City Mayor Erick Cañosa thanked Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar for visiting this component city of Misamis Oriental. The visit included a courtesy call and a short welcome program at the Penthouse of the City Hall building here yesterday morning.
Cañosa said the visit of a top-ranking officer of the PNP was a first in his term as city mayor.
He also thanked Eleazar for an impressive performance as chief PNP that gave the men in unformed in the city back to high morale due to his program.
According to Gingoog Chief of Police Major Cerilo Orcullo, the city’s police stations are now on “zero police scalawag” because of the intensified cleanliness policy of Eleazar.
City Vice Mayor Peter Unabia also thanked Eleazar for making the PNP top official first visit the city as he salute the policy that washed out the police scalawags.
For his part, Eleazar thanked the local government for the warm welcome.
Eleazar, who will retire next month, also thanked the local government for its support and contributions to the local police force.
In another development, Eleazar thanked the local government for donating a 500-square meter lot located at Cevoleg in Barangay Lunotan in the city for the construction of a police substation.
Eleazar said the Memorandum of Agreement of the lot donation was already signed by Cañosa last Thursday at the Camp Vicente Alagar in Cagayan de Oro on the occasion of the 120th Police Service Anniversary.
