BARANGAY chairwoman Lelit Baal-Molina, whose coastal Barangay Bonbon has been the object of recurring challenges such as social media money scams, illicit drugs trade, child abuse, and thievery, could at least breath a sigh of relief.
This, after the city government of Cagayan de Oro considered Barangay Bonbon among the recipients of ‘Pasidungog 2024,’ an award honoring Adolescent Friendly Health Facilities in the city that have achieved Level 1 and Level 2 standards.
“At least, naay pahupay sa daghang mga pagsulay. We need something like this ining panahona nga daghang problema ang atong gina-atubang,” said Baal-Molina, the second woman next to incumbent Kagawad Jacky Lynne Biongcog-Merto to hold the highest post in Bonbon known for its TambaNipa Festival.
From keeping herself busy, including a series of visits to the Carmen Police Station, the Cybercrime Office in Camp Alagar, and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Headquarter near the Provincial Capitol, Baal-Molina took time out on Tuesday, October 1 to receive the award at the VIP Hotel.
City Health Officer III Rachel D. Dilla, in her invitation letter, heralded the significance of having Adolescent Friendly Health Facilities in delivering high-quality healthcare.
“Every adolescent deserves access to vital health services, including basic healthcare, pregnancy and postnatal care, and the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections,” Dilla said.
“We are pleased to inform you that the Adolescent Friendly Health Facility in your Barangay has met all the necessary requirements,” Dilla informed the Bonbon chair.
Despite the award, Baal-Molina vowed to pursue her case against the Facebook hackers who victimized her constituents of close to P30,000 amount of g-cash, using her FB account.
“Gikan na ‘mi sa NBI nag-file sa among complaint, naghulat na lang ko'g tawag nila for follow up. Lisod daw kini nga kaso pero atong paningkamotan,” Baal-Molina told Gold Star Daily.
