THE far-flung barangay Imelda in Villanueva town became the latest recipient of the Paglaum MisOr Sports Clinics in basketball and chess now in progress, July 26 at the Barangay Imelda covered courts.
Former national varsity standout Jeffrey Morial of DLS-College of Saint Benilde and Colegio de San Juan de Letran is in full charge of the basketball clinic, while Lorenzo Cuizon ― whose National Masters wife Cecile and daughter Loreshyl both made it to the World Chess Olympiad ― takes the lead in teaching basic chess fundamentals to the young ones.

Barangay Imelda chief Arturo Fabela Ubalde, Sr expressed his appreciation for the Paglaum sports program’s significant role in molding the youth.
“Lipay kaayo ako nga gihatagan gyod sa pagtagad ang mga bata kay sila ang atong future. Unta, sa sunod apilan sab og volleyball kay daghan mahiligon sa among mga babaye direng dapita,” Ubalde told Gold Star Daily.
Paglaum MisOr sports caretaker Chrysostom ‘Tammy’ Cailing said that Villanueva town had just concluded its volleyball championships at Poblacion 3, even as its basketball finals in different age categories have yet to be scheduled at the same venue.
