SPORTS enthusiasts in the quiet municipality of Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental will come to life on October 5 with the grand opening of the 2024 Paglaum Cup Kinoguitan Inter-Barangay Tournaments in Basketball and Volleyball.

Paglaum Sports caretaker Chrysostom ‘Tammy’ Cailing told Gold Star Daily that the Paglaum Cup in Kinoguitan was greatly inspired by the success of their recently-held sports festivals in Villanueva, Jasaan, and Balingasag.

“All out ugma puhon among personnel sa Provincial Sports Development Office pag assist nga maplastar ang opening sa atong mga padula sa basketball ug volleyball sa Kinoguitan,” said Cailing, the trusted guy of Governor Peter M. Unabia in implementing the province’s comprehensive sports program down to the remotest barangays of Misamis Oriental.

Cailing said that Misamis Oriental, now ranked 13th among the most competitive LGUs nationwide, has regularly participated in the country's big sports competitions such as the Batang Pinoy and the national age group meets.

He believes that developing young and budding athletes from the grassroots level could reinforce the province's competitive fire and improve its performance at the national level.

“That is why paspas and consistent among pag organize sa Paglaum Cup in the different municipalities kay ugma damlag makabaton ra kita'g dugang mga atleta nga adunay katakos nga magdala sa probinsiya og dakong dungog puhon dili lang sa national apan lakip na sa international events,” Cailing said.
