MATI CITY, Davao Oriental — Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s 2025 senatorial bid under the “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” continues to gain traction across Mindanao, as his grassroots-driven campaign centered on rural development draws growing support from both ordinary citizens and key political blocs.
In Mati City, Pacquiao outlined his legislative agenda, pledging free housing for indigent families, aggressive anti-corruption reforms, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities.
“If we want real change, we have to start in the farthest places — in communities that are unseen and unheard. Development can’t be limited to the cities,” Pacquiao said in Filipino.
In Tagum City, the senator also met with Mindanaoan leaders, including Davao del Norte Gov. Edwin Jubahib, to explore partnerships for regional development initiatives.
Grassroots organizations and local political leaders across the region have publicly backed Pacquiao’s campaign, citing his commitment to amplifying Mindanaoan voices in national policymaking.
At the core of his platform is a comprehensive rural development plan that includes free housing for underprivileged families and disaster victims, youth development through sports programs, improved farm-to-market infrastructure, expanded access to healthcare and education, and the revitalization of local economies.
Pacquiao, who often references his humble roots in General Santos City, emphasized that national progress depends on inclusive governance.
“The rise of rural communities is the rise of the entire nation,” he said.
With mounting regional support, Pacquiao is emerging as a formidable contender in the 2025 midterm elections, particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao, where many voters see him as a true advocate for their aspirations.
