P1.4-m marijuana found in Surigao

By Ben Serrano, Correspondent BUTUAN City — An estimated P1.4 million worth of dried, processed marijuana buds contained inside blue drum was found along shore in Barangay Buenavista, Tandag City in Surigao del Sur province Wednesday afternoon. Tandag City Chief of Police Chief Insp. Rey Sorreda claimed they discovered the marijuana weighed some 19.2 kilos. PO2 Herman Abao of the Surigao del Sur Provincial Police office based in Tandag City told Gold Star Daily that two local fishermen Gregorio Macarayo and Eddie Mar Ocat found the blue container floating near the shore of Barangay Buenavista while on their way to Tandag City Fish Port. Sorreda on the other hand, Tandag City Police are still investigating the discovery of the marijuana.
