CAGAYAN de Oro City’s George Arsenal shone again on US soil after winning more medals in the 2022 Florida International Online Taekwondo Championships on June 12.

The 45-year-old Arsenal pulled a gold medal in the traditional poomsae of the master’s division, while he settled for silver and bronze in the speed kicking and sports poomsae categories.

With his recent feat, he has something more to be happy about after he was adjudged as the most valuable player of the tournament.

“I am really happy. Sangit sa langit nga kalipay,” said Arsenal.

Previously, he successfully opened his comeback from international competition with a double gold finish in the 13th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships in May at the Eastern Michigan University, Michigan.

His campaign will not end up there as he will try to sustain his winning streak in the Sunshine State Game in Florida.

“It’s a big competition and I’ll try to make it count,” he said.

It can be recalled that Arsenal pulled golds in his first tour in the US five years ago and will try to duplicate the same in his return there. (Jaime Joshua A. Frias II)
