By HERBIE GOMEZ Editor in chief POWER generation at the Pulangi hydrolectric power plant in Bukidnon improved yesterday, providing some relief to Cagayan de Oro that has been hit by four-hour rotating blackouts this week due to the Mindanao power crisis. The improvement in the Pulangi production and the power allocation allowed the Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. (Cepalco) to memontarily do away with power loadshedding schedule starting in the morning. Cepalco spokesperson Marilyn Chavez said there were no details from National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) which allotted more power for the city yesterday. With the improved allocation from the Mindanao grid and the additional 42 mw generated by its sister company Minergy, Cepalco was able to free the city from blackouts yesterday. But Chavez said she was not in the position to say if this would still be the case today and in the coming days. She said Cepalco was told the Pulangi production has improved, and NGCP did not call to advise it to loadshed. “Änd so, we did not cut the power off (yesterday),” Chavez said.
