By NITZ ARANCON Correspondent CITY police director Faro Antonio Olaguera yesterday downplayed a Camp Alagar officials report that showed that Cagayan de Oro topped areas in the region with the most number of robbery cases from January to July. Senior Supt. Olaguera claimed that the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) listed 628 robbery incidents in the city during the period and August contrary to the Camp Alagar report that it had 2,488 cases. Olaguera gave a breakdown of robbery incidents: 70 om January, 69 in February, 81 in March, 74 in April, 103 in May, 99 in June, and 87 in July. From Aug. 1 to Aug. 25, he said, Cocpo recorded 45 cases. “Maybe the  figures of  Camp Alagar as far as robbery cases are concerned covers the entire region, not only Cagayan de Oro,” Olaguera said. Camp Alagar’s figures were submitted by Supt. Francis Cariaga, police director for operations in northern Mindanao, during a meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council.
