The island of Camiguin is no stranger to tourists both local and foreign. It is in fact a place where you can see a lot of expats settling down and living in the delights of a laid back atmosphere. This coming weekend however, the entirety of the island will be celebrating the much awaited Lanzones festival. As a travel photographer or any traveller, before shooting or attending a festival, one must find solace or refuge where you can take in the essence of being in the place where you are in. Somewhere you can just sit back for a few hours, breathe in the cool breeze and listen to the sound of crashing waves. I personally found that place in Bintana Sa Paraiso. It has just the right distance away from the bustling streets and places where you can’t be disturbed when you need to catch some sleep and a fair amount of distance to tourist destinations in the island. Misamisnon Millennial  This year, Miss Danna Rose Socaoco of Magsaysay is representing the province of Misamis Oriental on Eat Bulaga’s Miss Millennial. A beauty queen coming from The House beauty camp (the first beauty camp in Cagayan de Oro and perhaps in Northern Mindanao which was founded by Michael Solis Villamor II) is making waves in promoting the tourist attractions and products of the province. For the 2nd year running, Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano and Misamis Oriental Tourism Officer Atty. Jeffrey Saclot continue their support to misamisnon beauties as they showcase not only themselves but also signify and give testament that the province of Misamis Oriental is ready to compete in national and international standards in beauty, brains and prowess.  The pageant final is on October 27 ( Saturday), catch it live on GMA and let us support her in any way we can. Passion. Purpose. Photography. Today (25th of October), marks my 6th year as a photographer, those years passed by like it was just yesterday. A roller coaster of a ride but I believe that I’ll be doing this for the rest of my life. From what once was an ambitious dream of being a fashion photographer has turned and evolved into a travel photographer. I am thankful to Goldstar Daily for this opportunity to be part of their publication. To the owners, editors and staff, I am blessed and thankful. Photography has always been my passion, it comes with great joy that it now has a purpose to discover, conserve and spread awareness. Teach a person how to photograph and that person will photograph what they want, but plant a purpose of why they should photograph and they will change the world.
