MEMBERS of the board of directors of the Misamis Oriental Rural Electric Service Cooperative II, based in Medina town have been reactivated and assumed office yesterday.
They have assumed office functions as duly elected members of the board, representing the nine districts within the area coverage of the electric cooperative.
This development was confirmed by Engr. Danielo Jamolin after they received the order from New Administrator Emmanuel Juaneza of the National Electrification Administration (NEA), dated December 22, this year, for the reactivation of the board of directors of the electric cooperative and deactivated the Task Force Sidlakang Misamis Power Dos (TFSMP).
Task Force Sidlakang Misamis Power Dos was created when the board of directors of the electric coop was deactivated a year and one month ago.
The Task Force was then chaired by lawyer Melchor Cubillo, a member of the board of directors representing Balingasag District.
It can be recalled that the function of the board of directors was deactivated by NEA’s board of administrators during the term of former Administrator Edgardo Masongsong.
Masongsong had accused members of the board of directors of not paying payables to power suppliers from the period of December 2020 and part of 2021 while the collection decreased from the period of 2019 down to 2014, and the system loss soared.
“Tanan nilang reason trabaho man kana sa management. Dili sa board of directors,” said Jamolin.
The electric coop has funds for its obligation pay obligation the power suppliers, he added.
In an interview, Jamolin said they are happy with the development and a “big Christmas gift” that they have been reactivated as duly elected directors of the electric cooperative.
Jamolin is also thankful that they were cleared from all the charges filed against them by Masongsong and former NEA Project Supervisor Edmundo Pacamalan, Jr. before the NEA board of administrators.
He said the NEA order is based on the Regular Resolution 2021-148, dated December 9.
NEA also ordered the reactivated board of directors to pass and approve a resolution for the opening of vacancy and hiring of a regular general manager of Moresco II and to appoint an officer-in-charge while the hiring of the general manager is still being processed, Jamolin bared.
The conduct of elections in districts that have expired terms will be done as soon as possible as part of the NEA’s order, he added.
