BY pointing out the resiliency of Misamis Oriental’s tourism industry which had assured steady employment amid the pandemic, Anabelle Mae McDonnel of Naawan won this year’s Miss Kuyamis crown.
“I would (like to) congratulate (the) tourism industry for you have assured job stability despite the pandemic because Miss Kuyamis 2022 knows that in festivity and knowing that it’s not just more than scenic beaches but (it’s) about the eyes of our farmers and the faces of our indigenous communities that’s important,” McDonnel answered the final question and answer portion of the pageant last night.
Miss Kuyamis 2022 received P100,000 cash, gift cheques, and a chance to represent in the national competition.
McDonnel’s court is composed of first runner-up Jimema Tempra of Jasaan; second runner-up Vanessa Dulay of Manticao; third runner-up Nice Lampad of Sugbongcogon, and fourth runner-up Natazha Vea Mortola Bautista of Villanueva.
All top five belles received cash prizes, crowns, bouquets, and gift cheques.
The 9th Miss Kuyamis coronation night was held last night at Arturo S. Lugod Gym in Gingoog City and had a live telecast via Kuyamis 2022 Facebook page.
In his message, Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano highlighted how grateful he is to the people who have always been supporting him in his dream and aspirations for Misamis Oriental.
“It was not a bed of roses. It was very challenging. It was really hard but everything was easy because all of you rallied behind (me) for Misamis Oriental,” Emano said.
