By ROSE MUNEZA Bureau Chief TACURONG City-- A father of an active member of the PNP here was shot by a gunman on a backride while aspraying herbicide on his rice paddies at Sitio Malipayon, Barangay San Emmanuel, Tacurong City at around 6:30 o'clock in the morning of June 03. The victim Rolando Fernandez y Rupinta, 57 years old, married, farmer was shot by one of the riding in tandem on board a colored red Kawasaki Rouser motorcycle. The victim suffered three bullet wounds from .45 caliber and now in safe condition. The victim's daugther identified as P02 Sheryl Fernadez Espiritu, of legal age, married, assigned with the WCPD section of Tacurong City PNP and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Poblacion, Tacurong City was informed by her colleagues on duty through a phone call that his father was shot by one of the riding in tandem on board a colored red Kawasaki Rouser motorcycle hitting his father on his right shoulder, foot and on his stomach. Investigation revealed that the tandem stop just a few meters distance on the victim while spraying and without any word fired shots hitting the victim and immediately withdraw on board same motorcycle towards the southern portion of the incident. It was further learned that the victim was rushed to a nearby private hospital and a medical operation was scheduled but accordingly was interrupted because of the power curtailment on going in the City however attending physician and the family believes that the victim was on safe condition as of this report. Meanwhile; Police Superintendent Junny Buenacosa had tasked his operatives to establish the possible motive of the incident and the identity of the suspects involved on the case.
