THE Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) has opened its 714th branch, located at the Lim Building along the National Highway in Barangay 17, this city.

Branch Manager Jun Vic Pag-ong confirmed the opening and said the blessing and inauguration ceremony was held on May 30.

City Councilor Evelyn Cañosa, representing her son, Mayor Erick Cañosa, attended the event and delivered remarks. She said the new branch presents an opportunity for more accessible, convenient, and reliable financial services in the area.

Councilor Cañosa, as posted on the City Hall’s official media page, also emphasized that the opening signifies the city's ongoing development and economic growth.

Also present were Metrobank Branch Banking Sector Nationwide Head Randell Victoriano, Area Head Francis Kaameño, Operations Officers Jonalyn Villanueva and Mary Rose M. Indiano, branch heads from Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, and Surigao, as well as local business leaders and clients.

Councilor Stephanie Kho said the opening of the branch offers more banking options for small businesses in the city and could help support their daily operations.

She added that the branch will provide services such as fund transfers, bill payments, money transactions, investments, insurance, and auto and housing loans, catering to the financial needs of Gingoog and neighboring towns.

Kho also noted that the branch’s presence is expected to help boost the city’s economic activity and improve revenue collection.
