By LITO RULONA Correspondent   REP. Maximo Rodriguez Jr. said he would file a bill aimed at stopping local givernments from selling lots in relocation sites. Rodriguez revealed this after he met with a group that includes Typhoon Sendong survivors and families with no homes to call their own, people displaced as a result of court demolition orders, and beneficiaries of city hall’s controversial “piso-piso” program. He said his proposal would be to stop local governments from making people in relocation areas pay for the lots given to them. “Nganong pabayron man nga biktima na gani sa katalagman og kalisod? Mo-worsen na hinuon ang kahimtang?” asked Rodriguez rhetorically. During Friday’s “Dayalogo” program here with Cabinet Secretary Leoncio B. Evasco Jr. and National Housing Authority (NHA) general manager Marcelino Escalada, Sendong survivors complained about a city hall plan to make recipients of lots in relocation areas pay. Sendong survivor Berman Sabanal said city hall has been planning to reformat the “piso-piso” program through the Task Force Emancipation of Piso-Piso Program. Sabanal said the “piso-piso” beneficiaries cannot afford to pay. “Among kita kutob ra gayud sa among matag-adlaw nga panginabuhian,” Sabanal said. Sabanal also asked the social workers to make check the present relocation sites because many of  the occupants are allegedly partisans from Misamis Oriental, city hall employees and their relatives. He also alleged that many housing units have been sold.
