A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck Davao Oriental at about 9:44 a.m. Thursday, October 10, shaking nearby provinces, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said the quake’s epicenter was located in Manay, Davao Oriental, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

A tsunami warning is expected to be issued following the tremor.

Here in Cagayan de Oro City, the earthquake was felt at Intensity IV.
