THE Land Transportation Office (LTO-10) has extended the validity of driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations that expired on Sept. 30 until Oct. 15.
LTO-10 Regional Director Nelson Manaloto said the extension was granted to assist motorists affected by recent calamities, including the earthquake in Cebu.
“This is our way of helping Filipinos who were impacted by the disasters,” Manaloto said.
However, he reminded drivers to renew their licenses and vehicle registrations before Oct. 15.
“After the extension period, penalties will be imposed,” he warned.
The extension was issued through a memorandum from the LTO central office, which also directed that no fines be collected during the grace period.
In addition, the 15-day resolution period for traffic apprehension cases that began on Sept. 26 has likewise been extended until Oct. 15.
