SHE tried her hands on chess to follow in the footsteps of her older sister Leia and brother Lynyrd Aleksei who are both champions of the 64-square-board game but failed. She then tried to explore music but could not just get to the level of his father Leonardo Vicente who is a gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist.
Now turning 19 years old with grace, brain, and beauty, Lenin Amidala Naliponguit Corrales went on to receive the first runner-up honor behind Miss Barangay Consolacion 2024 Janah Gwyneth Akut Leyson alongside Angel Mae Besinga Bolong on a rainy Thursday evening's coronation night, thus giving the brood Corrales-Naliponguit families of their first ever beauty queen.
“Wala ‘mi ga-expect nga interesado siya moapil kay beauty contest baya. Wala tay mahimo gawas ang paghatag sa igong suporta. Lipay kaayo ang amahan nga naa na siya’y beauty queen sa pamilya,” Lenin’s mother Ailyn Corrales told Gold Star Daily, referring to this paper’s concurrent editor-in-chief.

SK Chairwoman Christy Joy Hachero Labita, who led the Sangguniang Kabataan of Concolacion in organizing the event through the full support of barangay chair Derby Pacudan and powered by TeamAmega Productions headed by Kagawad Jie-jie Aisa, said that Miss Consolacion is more than just a pageant.
“It’s a celebration of talent, confidence, and the unique voices of young women,” Labita said of the well-attended pageantry held at the Consolacion Elementary School.
In celebration, Lenin’s father ― who stayed awake all night ― could only wake up at late noon the next day, uttering these words in half jest, “Chess player, guitarist, violinist, singer, thespian, dancer, painter, champion debater, and now beauty queen. Mura’g lisod na gyud ni pahugason og plato.”
