ILIGAN CITY — The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, successfully held its Agri-Aqua and Livestock Fair on April 18, 2026, at the Kauswagan International Organic Convention Center, highlighting the municipality’s rich agricultural, fishery, and livestock resources.

The event aimed to promote local industries and create market opportunities for farmers, fisherfolk, and livestock producers. Visitors sampled processed agri-fishery products and purchased fresh produce directly from local exhibitors.

A key highlight was the Bahay Kubo competition, which featured entries from all 13 barangays: Poblacion, Tacub, Libertad, Tugar, Bagumbayan, Kawit Oriental, Kawit Occidental, Paiton, Cayontor, Delabayan, Inudaran, Tingin-Tingin, and Baraason. Each barangay presented creatively designed nipa huts that displayed their agricultural and aquatic products, emphasizing sustainability and innovation.

The fair also hosted competitions for Farmers and Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Communal Gardens, as well as Household and School Gardens, further encouraging community engagement in food production and environmental stewardship.

Collaboration between private sector groups and farmer organizations strengthened the fair’s impact. Coordination meetings between the Municipal Agriculture Office and the Fiesta and Charter Day Executive Committee ensured the event's seamless execution.

Underscoring this vision, Municipal Agriculturist Adelino F. Rico noted that the fair reflects the municipality’s dedication to both agricultural development and public service
