By BEN SERRANO Correspondent BUTUAN City-- National Democratic Front (NDF) spokesperson for Mindanao Jorge Madlos a.k.a Ka Oris claimed in a press statement that many Caraganons in particular and Filipinos in general still not free until now despite the 117th year celebration of Independence Day.“We are still not free from bondage of poverty and corruption. As the term of Aquino already about to end with less than a year left, majority of the Filipinos whom Aquino referred to as his boss, not really the boss but the oligarchs and the ruling class. The failure of Aquino III for genuine land reform and National Industrialization favored neo-liberals, policy of deregulation, privatization and de-nationalization buried common Filipinos into poverty” Ka Oris in his three pages press statement he signed in time for the celebration of 117th Independence Day. The continuing rising of prices of basic commodities like rice, fish, meat, vegetables, fruits including high water and power rates and expensive, costly living but with low income due nailed minimum basic wages further buried the Filipinos alive into sea of poverty and ignorance.Ka Oris said the National Democratic Front (NDF) also condemned the continuing invasion, occupation and expansion of the Chinese territory into the West Philippine Sea due economic expansionist dream of China into Southeast Asia and occupy, exploit natural gas and petroleum rich West Philippine Sea.“But we cannot allow also the U.S. military power expansion in Asia as they change their focus of military power in the region due to Chinese expansionist dream. Imperialist U.S is using our country in their fight against another Imperialist China, “ Ka Oris said in the NDF press statement. Ka Oris claimed K-12 is the product of U.S. intervention in the Philippines system of education to produce cheap skilled labors and obedient workers for U.S and other foreign companies for the purpose of exploitation of labor and Filipino workers to the maximum.NDF, according to Ka Oris slammed plans of some lawmakers to abolish Filipino language in the school curriculum saying the plan only manifest the in-depth colonial slavery and subservient of the Philippine government also controlled by imperialist World Bank-IMF.On matters of wrong economic policy, the present government opened up mining and plantations for huge profit and exploitation of natural and agricultural resources at the expense of destroyed or damaged bio-diversity that poisoned rice farms, lakes, rivers, and seas which are source of food and potable water to drink. In finality, Ka Oris said the lives of 100-M Filipinos are still the same in the 300 years of the Spanish and nearly half century colonization of the U.S. and Spain in terms of liberation for economic freedom, from corruption that further sink Filipinos into quagmire of poverty saying Filipinos must continue to free him or her selves from bondage of poverty and wants, imperialist and other countries’ control by finding his or her true selves in the revolution for freedom and true nationalist democracy.
