GINGOOG City ― An elementary school in one of the hinterland barangays of this city will soon be developed into a fully-integrated school after Committee on Education chair Evelyn G. Cañosa agreed to the conversion of Mimpakiki Elementary School in Barangay Kalipay.
City Councilor Rodrigande Miole, the committee vice chairman, has confirmed that the committee has agreed to the conversion of the said school to a higher level.
Miole added that the matter will be submitted to the plenary in the next regular session of the Sangguniang Panlunsod for final discussion and likely approval.
Miole, who also served as an educator before taking office, said he is very confident that this matter will be approved by the majority members of the august body in converting the Mimpakiki Elementary School into Integrated School.
For his part, District Supervisor Mario J. Endrina, School Governance of the Operations Division of the Department of Education-Gingoog, said conversion of the elementary school to an integrated school means that both elementary and the secondary levels of learning are housed in one academic center.
“It could offer kinder, junior and senior high levels of education,” Endrina added.
Endrina said Mimpakiki Elementary School is the poorest school in the city.
“Sa katapusan makatungha na gayod ang mga kabataan sa high school sa sitio Mimpakiki diin sa gugay’ng panahon nga gihandum,” Endrina said.
The school is an estimated two-hour walk from Kalipay barangay hall.
