ANOTHER batch of senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 96 will each receive P10,000 on Oct. 21, according to the Iligan City’s Federation of Senior Citizens.
Federation president Edgar Navales told reporters Tuesday that more than 400 seniors are set to receive the cash incentive. Each beneficiary will be contacted by city hall for details on the venue and schedule.
The first batch of recipients, numbering more than 200, received their P10,000 cash assistance on July 25 at the Barangay Poblacion gym from 8 am to 1 pm. That batch covered those who reached the qualifying ages between Jan. 1 and June 30 this year.
The upcoming distribution will cover those who turned 80, 85, 90, or 96 between July 1 and Dec. 31 of 2025.
The cash incentive is part of the Expanded Centenarian Act (Republic Act 11092), which extends monetary benefits to elderly citizens aged 80 and above, instead of limiting the P100,000 cash gift to those reaching 100 years old.
